The Tiger Swallowtail is one of my favorite butterflies. I found this one feasting on some tasty tasty milkweed and was able to sneak up close enough to get a few pictures. As you can see, it has a broken wing, but that didn’t seem to affect its ability to fly at all.

Here’s an interesting fact, the Tiger Swallowtail’s caterpillar visually mimics bird droppings. This is a pretty clever survival practice because I’m pretty sure nothing eats bird poop.
